I totally forgot about this eatery until i searched for a place midpoint between my friends and me, Publika area. I have not been so i thought this was a good opportunity to try. The Red Beanbag was crowded when we arrived on a public holiday. We waited more than half an hour for an indoor seating. After the necessary SOP for entry, we were ushered to our table, activated our gadgets to scan the QR coded menu and placed our orders with the friendly waiter. Like a true latte lad, pretty neat art on top and correct cup. However, i wasn't too fond of its taste- it leaned towards the bitter side. The Kraken was among the favourites at the cafe. I can't agree more! This legendary squid conquers the wet, spiced sea. The inked pasta was cooked al dante, complementing the bouncy meat. Recommended especially for spicy and seafood eaters. Pricewise was standard cafe pricing. The ambiance was laidback, barnlike decor, creating a comfy space for us to catch up. Will i return? When i crave ...

So my brother decided to have pizza for his birthday, we headed to Publika for an enormous pizza treat! As we were unfamiliar with the whereabouts in Publika, finding this eatery was like a game of treasure hunt until we sought hints from a guard to locate it. The decor of Mikey's is interesting, especially with the black and white tiles, and the adorned brick walls at every side. Felt New York-ish? There were a few seats to choose from but the one we wanted was too small to fit the six of us and the food. The diner did feel warm so we chose the seat closest to the door. Air conditioning needs improvements. Unlike the usual pizza eatery, after looking through the menu, we had to place our orders over the counter, pay dinner and wait for them to be served. Aglio Olio was pretty standard. Not much ingredients but flavour-wise, okay. Should have tried other pasta from the pasta section of the menu. This was my first time attending a blogger's hangout and what better setting than at Ante Kitchen and Bar in KL? I was quick to get comfortable with its contemporary interior design in a fairly low lighting atmosphere. I could see myself with my family or friends just sitting and chatting, all night long. What stood out to me most was the playful character of the eatery itself. Part of the wall was adorned with pictures of this eatery's man-with-mustache signature. The most prominent display of this character was the menu. The names of the food and drinks are catchy and each food is creatively described.   Exquisite interior.   Over the counter. One of the owners (partners) explained to us the origin of this eatery, which began in October 2012, and mentioned that the name 'Ante' was inspired by their liking towards the poker game. Life is a gamble and it's all about taking risks, right? A name with a meaning! Soon after, lunch was served....
