Aria Restaurant and Bar, KL

Image
Some of the awesome reasons being with VibeHero are that i discover places i never knew existed and explore regions i don't normally go. My latest food adventure with the team at Aria was a fine example- an Italian cuisine treasure well kept in Bukit Damansara. Driving there was relatively easy. I used the DUKE highway and exited at Pusat Sains Negara (National Science Center), then followed the road to Plaza Damansara at Bukit Damansara. It's difficult to miss Plaza Damansara from there since it's mostly one-way. I noticed the quiet neighbourhood surrounding Plaza Damansara as i searched for Aria. And yes, finding a parking spot was challenging- i had to make two rounds before parking along the roadside right in front of the eatery. Aria is located amongst many other eateries, yet its board stood out. By definition, it means a long, accompanied song for a solo voice- so explains the musical influence to its board. I found my way in to meet with the team. I t...

Fei Fei Crab Restaurant, Kepong, KL

Image
My family suddenly craved for crabs and we didn't know where to get delicious ones at a reasonable price. Then, my mum Googled and discovered this crab restaurant in Kepong. Concerns: it is about 30 minutes from where we live, worth it or not, and more importantly, if it will satisfy the craving. But we had to take the chances. After all, reviews from other blogs seemed favourable. So we set the location in Waze and off we went. We found this restaurant tucked between two other restaurants, bustling with customers when we arrived. The restaurant was plain looking with yellow-clothed tables and red chairs, with air conditioning inside and open air outside. We got a table at the entrance and quick to be shown their eye-catchy menu and dish names. I would appreciate it more if they included the prices of the food; not all prices were written. Service was friendly and fast; dinner was served and i was ready to dig in. Two Flavours Snail was delightful! Served on a yin-yang sh...

d'Spice Restaurant, KL

Image
The recent VibeHero event brought me back to BB Park, for another multi-cuisine dinner. I braved the Friday rush hour traffic and arrived at the venue almost 8pm. It was my first time into d'Spice Restaurant- in my previous two visits to BB Park, i only see the inside from the outside of this eatery. As i walked in, i immediately noticed the chalkboard next to the bar colourfully written the signature dishes, operating hours and some other promotion. The open-air with fan concept makes for a laidback attitude of the eatery. Our tables were neatly arranged, so i took a seat and enjoyed the night. While waiting for the rest of the people to come, we chatted and i had Pineapple Juice. It was good to know the people from the team better. Also, this time, i got to see more familiar faces (other bloggers who attended VibeHero events previously- and i should have taken a photo with them). I hope we do meet again in other future events.  The Oreo Chocolate Blended on the left ...

Bonjour Garden Intermark, KL

Image
Bonjour- and i'm in Paris ! Well... i'm not actually in France but it surely felt like it. The soothing ambiance, the scent of croissant in the air and the mellow music playing in the background tricked me into believing that i was at 'La Ville-Lumiere' The City of Light, or The City of Love! Bonjour Garden first opened its doors to customers in Kota Damansara two years ago and the outlet in Intermark marks the fifth of its kind. Helmed by the charismatic Grand Chef Yukichi Matsubara, this lifestyle-garden concept bakery and cafe offers the masterful combination of fine Japanese skills and ingredients with popular French bakery. 'Healthy', 'Creativity' and 'Japanese chefs' are the three vital elements the menu is based on- and spot the five signature bakery items known as the 5Cs in this blog post. The rustic yet refreshing look, with simple but pretty adornments, makes for a relaxing dining venue in the bustling city of KL Th...

Glitter Palace Seafood Restaurant, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Selangor

Image
After a photography session near Viva Home in the morning, my family and i headed to Bandar Mahkota Cheras for lunch. My dad recommended this restaurant as he has been before. Located in a relatively new shoplot scheme, this restaurant looks glamorous on the outside. The section where the entrance is was plain looking but when we moved to the other side, draped with curtains that were drawn when the crowd came in, was more exquisite. We rearranged the 12-person table to fit the eight of us, sat and ordered. Service was fine and lunch was quick to be served. Marmite Chicken was deliciously tender. The gravy wasn't too thick so the flavours wasn't overpowering. Even the skin remained crispy. My grandpa loves marmite chicken and i'm pretty sure he enjoyed this. Guinness Stout 'Pai Kuat' Pork Ribs was delectable. The meat was well marinated, easy to bite and easy to chew. Slightly sweet but good to eat with rice. Although both these dishes are visually simila...

Trishna Restaurant, KL

Image
When i received the invitation for VibeHero 's next event, i was rather wary as i was under the weather that day and had been wanting to avoid spicy food. But knowing that it was an authentic northern Indian dinner (and in the mood for Deepavali), i couldn't resist. I parked my car at Pavilion (weekdays, after 6pm, flat rate RM 6) and walked to Hotel Istana. There, i enjoyed the lobby's grandeur as i made my way to the basement and into Trishna Restaurant.  Striking entrance of the restaurant. I introduced myself and the waiter led me into a private room where the rest of the team were already seated. I have never been into a beautifully decorated Indian restaurant. The arty walls and furniture reminded me of a scene in movies. The tables were also prettily set up (although we did a little 'remodeling' of our own later to sit together). We were later introduced to the jovial owner, Mr Benny. Achari Chicken Tikka was a delicious starter to ...
