BBQ Chicken Restaurant, KL

It is not very often that i write a review of a chain restaurant; so this is one of those rare occasions that i decided to- to share a discovery.

I've seen this eatery in a few places (i visited the one in KL Festival City mall; Miri) and one of the posters caught our attentions- listing the top 7 dishes with appetizing photographs. We sat right at the entrance before moving closer in. Flipping through the menu, i found myself slightly disappointed. I thought i'd find more Korean dishes but later realized more chicken dishes instead (so the 'chicken' logo and name of the shop). The waitress recommended and enlightened us by explaining the menu options to us.

The discovery i mentioned earlier- it's this. Pane Mushroom Soup was surprisingly delectable. My favourite of the night. The soup was aromatic and creamy; the bread to dip in was crunchy and light. It was so good we even ate the 'bowl'. Just that i would like if there were more mushroom bits in it.

Comparing to the above, which set the bar high, this Shrimp Fried Rice was plain ordinary. The rice lacked flavour.

1 piece Jerky BBQ served with mashed potato and salad came pretty. The mashed potato was coarse but the flavours packed a punch! Yummy. The chicken was well glazed and tender. Good for one person.

With a meal set, this Korean Charbroiled chicken came with sides of choice: kebab, rice and salad. This slightly spicy rice tasted much better than the other rice. The kebab was ok. The main was sweet but tasty. The meat was tender too. Good to share for small eaters.

Overall, it was a pleasant first experience. Price wise, it is above average, with other dishes such as pastas and pizzas on the menu. But honestly, the reason i will come back to this eatery is because of its mushroom soup.
