[Wyack TV] RM: Food finds in Klang Town, Malaysia

Image
The first thing that comes to mind when one mentions of Klang is Bak Kut Teh, loosely translated to Pork Bone Tea. Undoubtedly, everyone has their own favourite and preference of its porky meaty version. But don't stop there! Make a day trip to Klang Town and learn more of its food scene. We did, and enjoyed walking around town. This was our plan: we started with breakfast at Chong Kok Kopitiam, hunt for Regent Pandan Layer Cake, played with the mural art, tasted the Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh (aka Under the Bridge) and chilled out at cozy Seraph Awaken cafe before heading home. Watch my YouTube vlog below for the experience. Please like, share and subscribe!

Food on Foot: Jonker Walk and Around, Melaka

Image
Malacca, or more commonly known to us as Melaka, is a relatively small state, about an hour and a half drive from KL (assuming smooth traffic). With its close distance, it is no surprise it has become the choice of many for a day trip, of makan-makan or jalan-jalan (food or travel). Expect crowd during weekends or long breaks. And long queues are common sights. Its city, like the state, is relatively small, and most attraction and interesting sites can be easily reached on foot. One of the best places to walk is Jonker Walk (Jonker Street) and the best times are weekend nights (night market) where you can find souvenir and food, almost every corner. With the hot and humid air, be ready to feel 'sticky' as you join the sweaty crowd. A cool shower after is the best. No matter how many times i visit Melaka, or Jonker Walk, i always feel l...

Food on Foot: Petaling Street aka Chinatown, KL

Image
Petaling Street, the Malaysian Chinatown, is definitely a place you should visit when in Kuala Lumpur- and i'm pretty sure this bustling place is recommended in travel brochures and websites. I don't normally visit this Street, until lately i realized the food haven it is. Although infamously known for its pirated goods and stalls that put bargaining skills to test, i sometimes enjoy being in the crowd, picking at snacks i find along the way, or simply having my meals at the table on the walkway. Of course, being in crowded areas as such means having to take better care of oneself- keep your belongings close to you at all times. The central of this Street is sheltered by a green roof, dubbed the 'Green Dragon' so by midday, it wouldn't be too sunny (though the heat plus the crowd can be overwhelming at times) and when it rains, there are some covered grounds. It is rather easy to get to Petaling Street; stop at the Pasar Seni LRT Station and this Street is close b...
