The first thing that comes to mind when one mentions of Klang is Bak Kut Teh, loosely translated to Pork Bone Tea. Undoubtedly, everyone has their own favourite and preference of its porky meaty version. But don't stop there! Make a day trip to Klang Town and learn more of its food scene. We did, and enjoyed walking around town. This was our plan: we started with breakfast at Chong Kok Kopitiam, hunt for Regent Pandan Layer Cake, played with the mural art, tasted the Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh (aka Under the Bridge) and chilled out at cozy Seraph Awaken cafe before heading home. Never would i realize there was a cafe by the furniture shop along a highway, until i did my research to locate it. This cafe appeared on my radar for some time and when the opportunity came, i seized the moment. We were there just after opening for Sunday brunch. It was cozy with Kingstreet decor, a reminder or motivation to visit the real one next time. The friendly waitress attended to us and took our orders. I had the Sea Salted Coffee which was latte topped with sea salt. The marshmallow accompany was interesting combination, along with caramel, that there was a procedure in place to drink. For fun but taste wise, nothing spectacular. My Chicken Spinach Leek (deconstructed?) pie was yummy. The pastry was buttery, light and crispy. The filling (or outside?) had enough flavours. The coffee scene is booming in Jakarta. As a country that produces and drinks coffee, i didn't want to leave out on sipping hot latte at hipster cafes, and i had what i still feel guilty about til today. If you are not a coffee fan, fret not, this post is not all about coffee. Remember i mentioned about the many malls in Jakarta? It is easy to pick Grand Indonesia as the top mall here, it likens that of Pavilion Mall in KL. There are floors of restaurants that will surely give you a hard time to decide. At least it did for me. Many international brands can be found in this mall. I particularly liked the cinema entrance- the decor exuded a brick-walled, theater feel. I noticed that unlike the cinemas in Malaysia where the tickets are checked at the main entrance before looking for the halls, i looked for my hall and then ticket is checked at the entrance of the hall. The last time i went to this kopitiam was many years ago. I could not remember the tastes of its dishes but i  remember- and it still is, that the shop is mostly green in colour.  The kopitiam. We had our Sunday breakfast here. It was rather crowded but we managed to combine 3 tables to fit 9 of us. The waiter that attended to us was friendly and definitely a senior. To order, we wrote down the numbers corresponding to the menu on a piece of paper and handed it to him when we were done. He could recite the orders in full just by looking at the numbers! We were lucky to be there on a Sunday as this is a Sunday-only special: Nasi Kunyit with Chicken Rendang. It was delicious. The sticky yellow rice was cooked well and the chicken rendang was the ideal complement. Recommended.  As we walked in, i noticed this dish on many customers' tables. This Tepung Goreng was tasty. On the road for another food hunt. This time to the uncharted regions of Jeram. My dad heard of this place from his friends, who then became excited and wanted to try them himself. Waking up considerably early for a Saturday, we quickly got changed and hit the road. At first, we thought it was somewhere in Ijok but after asking the locals, Jeram was the other way. I couldn't turn on the GPS (technical and human errors, my bad) so i had to rely on my navigation skill using Google Maps and some blogs for the address. We found ourselves onto Jalan Kapar and i was on the look-out for a mosque: Al-Naim Mosque. Knowing we were reaching our destination, i grew hungrier and the popular, reason-we-drove-here, 'wu kok' better be good.
