Krabi has a charm that i can yet dust off. The laid-back feel, the sounds of waves crashing on shore, the wind whistling through the leaves. I read that this Hokkien Mee in Chan Sow Lin is one of the best in town, or may be the best here. So when we took off to find it, my expectation was, undoubtedly, high. My dad said that he brought us here when we were little but i have vague, if not none, memory of the place. By the roadside of the corner of Jalan Dua, sheltered three hawker stalls. Quite noticebly, the first and third stall was crowded. Another thing being a Malaysian is to have such eatery, for not only are their food yummy but they have been here for many years. It is off the main road and this somewhat makes it well hidden from the public eyes. The crowd must have been regulars, from by word of mouth, or knowledge provided by nearby factory workers during the day. We sat at the third stall since our intention was the famed Hokkien Mee. So my brother decided to have pizza for his birthday, we headed to Publika for an enormous pizza treat! As we were unfamiliar with the whereabouts in Publika, finding this eatery was like a game of treasure hunt until we sought hints from a guard to locate it. The decor of Mikey's is interesting, especially with the black and white tiles, and the adorned brick walls at every side. Felt New York-ish? There were a few seats to choose from but the one we wanted was too small to fit the six of us and the food. The diner did feel warm so we chose the seat closest to the door. Although tucked at a quieter corner of Suria KLCC Shopping Mall, my eyes instantly caught the eatery's name- decorated on a wall with contrasting colours, in front of Isetan. My family and i arrived to an almost-empty eatery despite reviews i read online regarding the crowd and the need to make a reservation. As the night grew older, more people dined, so that was comforting, for me mostly, because it was our first time and because it was i who selected the place. Alas, there were significant misses. There's something about Provins that captivated me. Provins is far from Paris. The train ride took almost an hour and a half from Paris Gare de l'Est. Going there, i looked out and enjoyed the countryside. Coming back, i slept. Nicely decorated train station. It is one of the bigger stations, with many trains leaving to many places. From the train ride. Quick bite on Provins: it is a medieval town, with history claiming it to be home to one of the Champagne fairs, under the Count of Champagne. The fair was an annual trading fair cycle held in towns during the Middle Ages in the regions of France. Provins is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. Entering the medieval town.
