LUCE, Kuala Lumpur

Image
Luce Osteria Contemporanea is a cozy Italian eatery located along the charming heritage shoplot of Lorong Raja Chulan with the stunning KL Tower view. The food was on par! Upon entry, one cannot help but notice the oven. Stacks of takeaway boxes lined the counter. Pizza is surely a favourite on the menu and I sampled a slice. It was authentic, thin crust with fresh topping sauce. I explored the eatery- climbed up the narrow spiral wooden staircase, the orange hue wall radiant, passed by the bar area upstairs and welcomed a balcony setting, before settling in a table downstairs near the window. I was there just as the door opened for the day's business. Soon, more tables were occupied while maintaining distance apart. A glass of Dirupo accompanied the meal, catching up with friend. Cold cuts delight. The Prosciutto and Mortadella with pistachio were good picks in the mix. Thin and light, enough to kick start appetite. My main of well seasoned fish loin. The grouper me...

Sapore, Ampang, Selangor

Image
A relatively new restaurant in Ampang, Sapore boasts with its Italian-Spanish cuisine among a competitive row of international flavoured restaurants. I was there on a Saturday evening, anticipating authentic Italian food. The interior of the restaurant was simple but comfortable. The walls were adorned with some small, interesting pictures. Seats were limited and i was told that it can get pretty crowded during peak hours. The cellar inside made it feel more exciting. Sometimes simple is better. Catchy board at the entrance. Spianata ham for starters, and have i told you that i have a thing for hams now? This was yum. Enough flavour to excite the taste buds. Also as our starters were the Foccacia bread and Formaggi Lombardo. The homemade bread was good, eaten together with the cheese and honey.  Pasta is no stranger to the Italian cuisine, and was no surprise here. We had the Spaghetti Carbonara (foreground) and Spaghetti Bolognese (background). Between t...

Fancy a fine Italian cuisine? As soon as i stepped into Vineria.IT, i was immediately captivated by the ambiance- it's classy, stylish yet cozy and welcoming interior. Service was friendly and helpful. Seated at our tables, we were greeted by the Executive Chef, Chef Diego who then described the designed menu for the dinner. I was already excited hearing them. My first Zomato meet up session ongoing, starting with a glass of Bellini- and a twist of strawberry instead of peach.  *do not disturb* Arrived pretty on a plate, Burrata in Tomato Cage with Pesto Dressing was an amazing starter. Inside the shell of the Burrata, the mozzarella and cream was soft in texture and rich in taste. And like a pearl in oyster, the salmon was a pleasant surprise. My plate was left with the tomato top; even the pesto dressing disappeared. Ravioli with Asparagus and Fresh Black Truffle came next, which dethroned the Burrata as my favourite of the night (although it being served the ...

Aria Restaurant and Bar, KL

Image
Some of the awesome reasons being with VibeHero are that i discover places i never knew existed and explore regions i don't normally go. My latest food adventure with the team at Aria was a fine example- an Italian cuisine treasure well kept in Bukit Damansara. Driving there was relatively easy. I used the DUKE highway and exited at Pusat Sains Negara (National Science Center), then followed the road to Plaza Damansara at Bukit Damansara. It's difficult to miss Plaza Damansara from there since it's mostly one-way. I noticed the quiet neighbourhood surrounding Plaza Damansara as i searched for Aria. And yes, finding a parking spot was challenging- i had to make two rounds before parking along the roadside right in front of the eatery. Aria is located amongst many other eateries, yet its board stood out. By definition, it means a long, accompanied song for a solo voice- so explains the musical influence to its board. I found my way in to meet with the team. I t...
