Why do i still blog? Or more accurately, why do i still spend time on my blog? If time has currency, i'd be impecunious. Although there are ways to monetize the blog or generate income, i'm not in it solely for the money- at least not now. The hours typing, arranging photographs and customizing the blog in front of the screen just so it is always updated and refreshing, could have been spent on doing something better , something more rewarding . If i want to share, why not just upload them onto Facebook or Instagram? Wouldn't that be more time efficient? And with the 'work' ball rolling into my life, it has been more challenging than ever to squeeze a post or two in between. Owning and maintaining a blog is no easy feat, and definitely not for the undetermined. Then, why? Because I like blogging. Because I like writing. Petaling Street, the Malaysian Chinatown, is definitely a place you should visit when in Kuala Lumpur- and i'm pretty sure this bustling place is recommended in travel brochures and websites. I don't normally visit this Street, until lately i realized the food haven it is. Although infamously known for its pirated goods and stalls that put bargaining skills to test, i sometimes enjoy being in the crowd, picking at snacks i find along the way, or simply having my meals at the table on the walkway. Of course, being in crowded areas as such means having to take better care of oneself- keep your belongings close to you at all times. The central of this Street is sheltered by a green roof, dubbed the 'Green Dragon' so by midday, it wouldn't be too sunny (though the heat plus the crowd can be overwhelming at times) and when it rains, there are some covered grounds. In deciding between our regular go-to steamboat restaurant or my sister's recommendation, i continued my search online and chose to call up to reserve a table for 9 at the, for me, new shop. Part of the reason was to try someplace new. That was a smart move as we arrived during peak crowd and we could easily settle into our table. The menu was rather extensive with set options, special home made, add ons, seafood, dim sums, appetizers and desserts- i expected simpler menu but i'm not complaining. We ordered and i kept a menu with me while waiting for the ingredients to be served. We had some New Style Set (RM 16.50 per person) and Seafood set (RM 17.50 per person). It also comes with choice of noodle and an egg. Reasonably priced. Brought to boil, the tom yam soup was appetizing. It wasn't too spicy. The chicken soup was plain but sweetened up throughout dinner. Frankly, i was full because of the soup; may be 60% soup and 40% food. Again, i'm not complaini...

It is not very often that i write a review of a chain restaurant; so this is one of those rare occasions that i decided to- to share a discovery. I've seen this eatery in a few places (i visited the one in KL Festival City mall; Miri) and one of the posters caught our attentions- listing the top 7 dishes with appetizing photographs. We sat right at the entrance before moving closer in. Flipping through the menu, i found myself slightly disappointed. I thought i'd find more Korean dishes but later realized more chicken dishes instead (so the 'chicken' logo and name of the shop). Last minute, but top on my list. Granted the days off, i suggested to treat my family in the south and up for the new year having seen previous celebrations. Prices, of currency, accommodation and transportation, were high with the festivities in check and i couldn't do anything but be victim. So we drove instead of flying, first to Johor Bahru then into Singapore via the Woodsland Causeway. Oh yes, you will also notice my travel buddy in some of the photos. 30 December 2014 This time around, Johor Bahru surprised me with its delicious food: clockwise tiramisu crepe, Peking duck, banana cake and queue, and dim sum. We left KL early in the morning and arrived at our breakfast place, Restoran Yeen Lai  in Kulaijaya. Famous for its dim sum, it was nothing spectacular.
