Legoland Malaysia

Image
This is the first time i'm reviewing a theme park in this blog- what better to choose than here-in-my-home, the Legoland Malaysia, the sixth in the world! Although i've heard and received mixed reviews of this relatively new theme park, personally, i thoroughly enjoyed my day out in the rain and sun in this 'playground', reliving my childhood moments, amazed and amused, brick after brick, throughout the entire park. While my comments here may be biased towards my liking of Lego, i will try to be as neutral as possible- there are some setbacks and rooms for improvements.  The iconic entrance! Located in the developing region of Johor, in Nusajaya, my family and i left KL before sunrise for a three-hour drive south. After breakfast in the old Kulai town, we arrived at Legoland Malaysia in the midst of the morning crowd rush. I visited the park on a Saturday in December, means school holidays and the opening hours are extended, from 10 am to 8 pm- i guess i have to

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie, Kuala Lumpur

When my friends told me about this place, i knew where it was, but i didn't know where it really, really was. I know i make no sense here but what i mean is, i frequent Jalan Imbi, yet, i didn't know the existence of this cottage-like, colonial-style place that serves wide range of savouries: bread, cookies, macaroons, chocolates, and cakes, and fancy drinks too! Seeing the building from afar exudes charm, as if i was entering an old English lot. That unique ambiance with its classic interior paired to its well priced menu explained the ocean of people inside and wave after wave of new customers hitting the shores of the counter beneath the noon Sun. Bidding welcome at the entrance. Parking was tight outside the eatery so the jockey service is reasonably recommended (RM 2) when dining here. One interesting point, as seen from the outside, written boastfully on its brick wall is their unique mode of baking- stone oven. Stone oven is said to ensure even heat circulation a

Reached Raub, Pahang

My Saturday morning began when my dad came into my room and woke my brothers and i up. He said, 'let's jalan-jalan makan' (literally translated as travel and eat) today and my first reply was 'where?'. 'Raub', he said. Spontaneity has never exactly been my strength but when thrown in with adventure, i was all geared up to go. My parents got the idea to visit this place mostly because of Axian's travelogue in the Asian Food Channel- the episode i didn't watch. I only knew little about Raub in Pahang- that it is a gold mining area, famous for peanuts and bean curd. Journey to Raub took us almost an hour and a half drive from home, and it was a new yet familiar experience. From the bustling roads in KL to the old (tar) road, and as we ventured further from city life, slowly but surely we got absorbed into the lush greenery and generally simple surrounding. Lately, i find a liking to use old road because it redefines travel and i can see glimpses of
