KomPassion, Damansara Kim, Selangor
First things first, i like the name of this eatery. I learned that the chef is Chef Kom and if i could hazard a guess, it could be a playful word choice of Kom's passion for food or compassion. Either way, this place served Thai fusion food and i was happy that it delivered.
Sandwiched among shops in the Damansara Kim area, this eatery was crowded during our visit on a Saturday night (customers came til closing hours). Still, we got a table once entered. Service was average.
The menu was exciting to read because of its fusion content and modern twists to familiar favourites. Not long after, we placed our orders and relaxed in its cozy ambiance.

Paku Vege was fresh and tasty. It is hard to find good paku dish around and here did it justice.
My brother ordered this pasta with duck and it came mixed with bean sprouts. Unique, definitely, so much that my brother didn't enjoy it. But my mom and i did. I couldn't quite put a taste to it.
My plate of Lemongrass Chicken with coconut rice. It appeared rather confusing with the rice at the center. I needed to move a side aside to scoop easier. Each element on the plate, however, was amazing! The green curry was delicious, the sambal was lip smacking, the dipping sauce was tantalizing. I could do with more lemongrass flavour on the chicken.
Seafood Tom Yum was appetizing. Spicy but not too spicy, it felt authentic. Some things are better left unchanged. Good to share.
Another good to share was this Ribs. Topped with pork belly for its fattier counter part, it was well flavoured and tender. The winner was actually its sauce! A hint of bbq flavour yet refreshing.
To end the night, we had Coconut Ice Cream with red pearls (water chestnut) and jackfruit. The ice cream was smooth and aromatic. The pearls were crunchy and the jackfruit strips were sweet. Ended on a sweet note, indeed.
I recommend this eatery to adventurous foodies or those who like fusion food with modern twists. I'm sure to revisit this place for its (un)common menu. Just need to find a car park spot. Or Grab there. Or MRT may be?
