Pee Nong Thai Food Restaurant, Pandan Indah, KL

It's been awhile since we last visited this Thai restaurant. How we got to know this place- i can't remember, but i remember that the food was good (and authentic, at least to me). It was no different in this recent visit. In fact, we felt more than satisfied.

We made a reservation but when we arrived, it wasn't crowded yet- it was, when we left. We sat in the shop across the road, air-conditioned and more spacious, flipped through the menu and then placed our orders. The appetizer was quick to be served but the others took some time.

Cockles aren't usually my favourite but here, i'd make an exception. Opening each cockle, slowly digging it from its shell, dipping it in the spicy sauce, devouring it all at once, my steps to enjoying this fresh and succulent starter.

It wouldn't be a complete Thai cuisine dinner without this- Red Tom Yum with Seafood, less spicy. The sweet-sourish taste of the soup was good to start the night. Looking at it now makes me salivate.

Fish in Thai Style was yummy! The fish was fresh and sweet, but it was the soup that was tantalizing to the taste buds. The flavours were strong yet not overpowering. One of the favourites of the night.

Paku vege in Thai Style was another delight. It was slimmy yet crunchy. A good choice for greens on the table.

Who doesn't like Pandan Leaf Chicken? Unfolding the leaf to an aromatic chunk of tender meat, i thoroughly enjoyed this dish. Good to go with or without rice.

Another fish on the table- cooked in salt. I thought this dish would stand out but instead, it didn't due to the other more tasty contenders. Still, it was fresh.

Pineapple Fried Rice was well cooked. Fragrant, simple and sweet; i'd recommend this fried rice if fried rice is what you're looking for.

This Glass Noodle with Tom Yum Paste was better than expected. Although some parts of the noodles appeared lumped, the flavours were balanced. Generous with ingredients, especially sotong.

Desserts were on the house- and what a finish to a run of yummy, spicy, sweat-inducing mains. It wasn't too sweet, the nangka was juicy and the cute, red pieces made this bowl attractive.

We had pandan flavoured water, which was fragrant and refreshing. The bill was reasonable and more importantly, it was worth it. One of the places to go for Thai food- you have to try if you're in the neighbourhood or if Thai food (or food in general) is your interest.
